Farewell to Margot Villaseñor; Descansa en Paz la amiga del pueblo

Las Vegas lost a legend on July 19 with the passing of Marcos Antonio Garcia, known by most as Margot Villaseñor, la amiga del pueblo (friend of the people). Margot lost her two-week long battle with COVID-19 but won the hearts and friendship of many in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Garcia, born Feb. 25, 1970, was the consummate female impersonator and entertainer, using her skills as a performer and host, to raise funds for friends, family and anyone in need. She was the resident emcee and host at The Backdoor Lounge, a LGBTQIA+ bar/night club which caters primarily to the Hispanic and Latin community.

Visitation will be held Aug. 6 at 4:30 p.m. at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Funeral services will be held Aug. 7, 10 a.m., also at Palm. A committal service will follow at 11 a.m.

El pasado domingo 19 de julio del presente, nuestra amiga Margot Villaseñor falleció a causa de la pandemia Covid-19. Ella era una chica con un gran talento, siempre ayudando y organizando eventos para recaudar fondos para toda persona que lo necesite. Es muy triste ver como familiares, amigos se nos van a causa de esta pandemia.

Estén muy atentos amigos lectores, durante estas semanas habrán eventos organizados por Josie Cavallary, Paloma Makary y otras chicas chicas más, para recaudar fondos y ayudar a la familia de nuestra amiga tan querida
