Pawsitive Difference, a volunteer based animal rescue is seeking foster homes for dogs waiting to be adopted.

The organization, which rescues, fosters and adopts out dogs, says it is in need of safe environments for dogs that have been abandoned, taken from shelters, or from owners unable to care for them.

“The animals we rescue go into a volunteer’s home where they will be fostered, evaluated then adopted out when ready,”  Christina Phongphila, foster coordinator at Pawsitive Difference, said. “Some fosters like to provide everything or have everything for their foster animal, however we will happily provide the foster with everything necessary for our animals.

“All we ask is that fosters provide a safe environment with lots of love and are able to transport vetting appointments and to adoption events. If transportation is an issue we can  sometimes accommodate depending if we have a volunteer transporter in the foster’s area.”

Adoptions are held Sundays from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  at the PetSmart  located at 9775 W. Charleston Blvd. Fosters  drop off and pick up their foster dogs at the event and are welcome to stay.  “Being a foster is so rewarding without the lifetime commitment,”Phongphila says. “You gain companionship, save a life, keep the animal safe, and just to see the progress of the animal you’ve cared for is a reward in itself.”
